Explain what the dpi is for pictures for the web and for print and why they are different. Describe 3 Photoshop tools that you learned this week.
The DPI for pictures for the web, and the DPI for pictures that are to be printed are very different. DPI stands for dots per inch. When you save a picture for the web your resolution for your pricture must be set to 72, because the internet can only hold so much, otherwise it would look pixelated. For a printer to print out clearly, the picture resolution must be at 300, so that it prints out looking like the origional picture did. Three different tools I learned in Photoshop this week were the Magic Wand Tool, the Brush Tool, and the Gradient Color Tool. The Magic Wand Tool is a tool that allows you to delete unwanted space or color from behind a picture. The Brush Tool allows you to brush on shapes, and images. Lastly, the Gradient Color Tool allows you to take mutiple colors and give it a fading gradient looking effect.

Essential Question 2
Explain what has been your favorite activity this week and how you created it. Add the image to your blog.
We did a lot of very interesting and fun activities this week. If I had to pic a favorite although, I would have to say that my favorite was our "Trace Face" project. We were given partner before class had started. Next we were instructed to go to our partner's computer, and us the photo booth to take a normal picture of ourselves, then we returned to our computers. We we instructed to use the Adobe Photoshop to start out project. This was my favorite project this week, and this is how I did it.
This project was completed using Adobe Photoshop. I took the original photo of emily, and traced it by layers. Tracing one by one, the eyes, nose, eyebrows, mouth, neck, hair, and shoulders. To do this project I used a pencil tool, with 1px, and an eraser. Once finished I dropped the background, and used the text tool to write "Emily by Kiana," to label the work.

Essential Question 1
What is one of your strengths? Weakness? Why should I hire you?
My name is Kiana Hartman, and I am here to tell you about my strengths, and my weaknesses. I have a wide variety of strengths. Some strengths that I do have, include drawing. I would say that I am generally a talented artist, and it is something that I love to do. I would also say that I am very good at doing things hands-on, I learn better by doing, rather than watching. I'm a very quick learner. I am very good at working in groups, but I also do very well working by myself. I'm good at english, and public speaking, spelling, and quick typing. Besides all of the things that I am able to do, I do have some weaknesses, that I am working to compensate with. One thing that I am sometimes, but not always good at, is math. I check my work, and do it slowly to make sure I get everything correct, but it is something that I need to work on for future circumstances. Another thing that I am not very good at is working quickly on something that I have never done before. In some instances, I have been expected to pick up on something quickly, that had just been told to me. I am better at hands-on learning, so progressing speedily after just learning something is a little difficult for me. By compensating with this, I try my best to keep up pace with the rest of the class, and listen carefully to the instructions being given to me. I believe that I should be hired for the job, because I am a very hard worker, I am very punctual, and dependable. I work to my best ability, and never give up, this is why I feel that I would be the best applicant for this job.
